Pro Engineer/Comparison

Against what else is out there — Track Titan, Delta, RaceLab, SimHub, Crew Chief, MoTeC i2

Including the columns where this one loses.

Named tools, checked against their own sites and current write-ups in August 2026. Where a cell says not stated, that is what it means — we would rather leave a gap than print something about another project that turns out to be wrong. Check anything here before you rely on it.

Where this one wins, and where it does not. It is the only one here that is free, open, accountless and native on Linux, and the only one that rates its own confidence or declines to answer. It is also the only one that supports exactly one simulator — the others cover four to seven — and it has no AI coach, no pro reference laps and no community of a quarter of a million drivers behind it. If what you want is somebody else's fast lap to chase, one of the subscriptions is a better buy than this is.

WHAT IT DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO

Four of these are asked for regularly. Each is missing for a reason rather than for lack of time, and saying so is cheaper for everyone than a roadmap nobody keeps.

Run a relay of its ownSharing works between two machines that can reach each other, which on one network is any of them. Across the internet there is no service of ours in the middle and there will not be — put both machines on a mesh VPN and the existing settings work unchanged.
Read a setup you did not saveThe simulator does not publish the loaded setup, so a change cannot be attributed reliably. Two setups differing only in a roll bar are indistinguishable — which is exactly the change the feature would exist to measure. Better to say nothing than to guess.
Support another simulator yetThe architecture is a folder per game and the boundary is real. Nobody has written the second folder. What one would have to provide is written down.
Overlay outside Custom Shaders PatchThere was a second, desktop-drawn overlay. It did not survive exclusive fullscreen, never appeared in VR, and was invisible to the game's own screenshots. It was removed rather than half-fixed.
