No accounts. No analytics. Nothing about you is collected.
This page covers the three programs — Pro Launcher,
RG Pro Engineer and Pro Engineer (the
terminal) — their Discord status, and
this website. It lists every place any of them talks to over
the network, what goes there and why. If something is not on this page, the
programs do not send it. The terms you use them under are on
their own page.
IN ONE MINUTE
There is no account, no sign-in and no email address anywhere in any of the programs.
Your telemetry, laps, setups and settings stay on your computer. They are files in the programs' own folders and in the game's Documents folder, and nothing reads them but the programs.
Nothing is sent on its own except a check for a newer version, which names only the program's version. Everything else is something you pressed: joining a server, downloading a mod, sharing a lap, sending a problem report.
No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, in the programs or on this site. Nothing is sold, and there is nothing to sell.
PRO LAUNCHER
The launcher reads the game's folders on your computer and writes the game's own
settings files when you change something or press DRIVE. Over the network it
talks to:
proengineer.app — at start and every few hours, which launcher version is current (/download/pro-launcher.json), and the new version when it updates. The request carries the launcher's version and nothing else.
Kunos's server lobby (93.57.10.21) — the public server list, on the ONLINE page. The lobby answers only a signed-in Steam account, so the request carries your Steam ID, exactly as the game and Content Manager send it. That is the game publisher's service and their rules apply to it.
Game servers — each server's own address, to measure how far it is (a connection opened and closed), to read its sessions and rules when you choose it, and to join it when you press JOIN. Your driver name is sent when you join, because the game sends it.
Your local network — a short UDP message to the usual server ports, to find servers on it.
Links you paste or press — a mod from Google Drive, Dropbox, GitHub, Discord or any address you give, and a server's published content when you press DOWNLOAD WHAT IS MISSING. Those sites see the request like any download.
acstuff.ru — the list of Custom Shaders Patch builds, and the build you choose to install.
Microsoft (download.microsoft.com) — the shader compiler, only when you press FIX on Linux.
Google Fonts (fonts.gstatic.com) — the letters for Chinese or Japanese, once, the first time you choose one of them. The file is checked against a fixed fingerprint before it is used.
Steam — the switch that makes Steam's Play open the launcher edits the game's launch options in Steam's own file on your computer. Nothing is sent.
What it keeps — your choices, presets, championships, time at the wheel, best lap per
setup — is one settings file in its own folder. Delete the folder and it is gone.
RG PRO ENGINEER
The window reads the game's telemetry from shared memory on your computer and keeps
your laps, sessions and notes in its own folder. Over the network:
proengineer.app — the version check, the same as the launcher's, and the module catalogue when you open MODULES.
Shared laps (proengineer.app/laps) — only a lap you choose to share: the car, circuit, lap time, date, the trace decimated to 600 points, the name you gave, and the setup only if you ticked it. It is tied to a random identity made on your computer, not to you; FORGET in the library removes that identity. Other people can see shared laps — that is what sharing is.
Problem reports (proengineer.app/report) — only when you send one, or after a crash if you said yes when asked. It holds the program's version, the system it runs on, what you wrote, a screenshot if you attached one, and for a crash where in the program it happened. It is read by the maintainer and nobody else.
Your local network — when you share or watch a session, the readings go to the computers you chose, or are announced on the network so a friend's copy can find yours. Nothing of this leaves the network unless you type an address outside it.
PRO ENGINEER
The terminal does what the window does in text: it reads the game on your computer
and keeps what it records in its own folder. It asks GitHub which release is
current and fetches the Linux bridge from there when you update it. Session sharing
on your network works as in the window. Its source is
public, so every line of this
can be checked.
DISCORD STATUS
When Discord is running on the same computer, the launcher can show what you are
doing in your Discord status — the car, the circuit, the kind of session or the
server, and how long you have been driving. It talks only to the Discord program on
your own computer; Discord then shows it to the people who can see your status,
under Discord's own privacy policy. It is
a switch in the launcher's settings, and off means nothing is sent to Discord at all.
THIS WEBSITE
No cookies, no analytics, no scripts from anywhere else, and the fonts are served
from this domain. The web server keeps the ordinary access log every web server
keeps — address, page, time and browser — to keep the site running and to stop
abuse; it is not analysed, shared or sold, and it is not kept for pictures, problem
reports or the laps service. The shared-laps pages read the laps others chose to
share.
THE FORMAL PART
Who is responsible: the author of the programs, as the person deciding what the shared-laps library, the problem reports and this site keep. Everything the programs keep on your computer is yours alone; the author never receives it.
Why each is kept (the legal basis): a shared lap and a problem report because you chose to send them (consent, which you can withdraw by removing the lap or asking for the report to be deleted); the version check, the site's access log and abuse limits because running and protecting a free service needs them (legitimate interest).
How long: a shared lap until you remove it or the library stops; a problem report until the problem it describes is dealt with, and at most a year; the site's access log only as long as the server rotates it, a matter of weeks.
Where: on the server that runs proengineer.app. Third-party services named above process what reaches them under their own policies and in their own countries.
Not sold, not shared: nothing is sold, rented or given to anyone, used for advertising or profiling, or combined with anything else. The only time anything would be handed over is when the law requires it.
Security: the site and every download are served over HTTPS; downloads and updates are checked against published checksums; a shared lap's proof of ownership is a secret that never leaves your computer in readable form.
Your rights — to know what is kept about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority — apply in full. Since nothing identifies you but what you chose to send, asking is enough: say which lap or report it is.
No automated decisions about you are made, and nobody under the age to consent in their country should send a problem report or share a lap without a parent's agreement.
YOUR DATA, YOURS
To see it: everything the programs keep is in their own folders as plain files.
To delete it: delete those folders. A shared lap is removed from the library from the program that shared it; a problem report you want removed, ask and it is deleted.
To stop sending: the launcher's version check and its Discord status each have a switch, and a crash report is only ever sent after you said yes to it; nothing else is sent unless you press for it.
Children: nothing here is aimed at children, and nothing personal is asked of anybody.
Questions, or a request about your data: the
issues page. When this page
changes, the change is in the site's history and the date below moves.
